About the Pfizer Vaccine

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine on Dec. 11. The vaccine is given in two doses that are 21 days apart. It is reported to be 95-percent effective at preventing COVID-19. Pfizer’s vaccine is the first mRNA vaccine that received EUA by the FDA. MRNA vaccines do not contain live virus, so they cannot cause an infection.

They cannot give someone COVID-19.
