Salvation Saturday Donation Event

The Jan. 11 Salvation Saturday event was an unqualified success as an army of shareholders descended on the Community Gardens to fill two large Salvation Army trucks to the brim with donated household goods, clothing and furniture.

Special thanks goes to the Salvation Army drivers and helpers, as well as the cadre of GRF and Mutual volunteers who greeted shareholders and assisted in unloading the vehicles.

The turn-out was greater than expected, likely fueled by the desire to help others in the wake of the devastating fires last week. Proceeds from LWers’ donations will support the Salvation Army’s disaster relief efforts.

Next month’s Salvation Saturday will be on Feb. 15—the Saturday after Valentine’s Day—at the Ampitheater.
