Unfounded allegations dangerous to health of LW community
MESSAGE FROM THE GRF
There continue to be unfounded allegations regarding the actions of the Executive Director in her role with the Golden Rain Foundation. The Executive Director manages the employees at the direction of the Board. The Board is responsible for employing and managing the Executive Director and is aware of a group of residents advocating against the renewal of the Executive Director’s contract. The Board is also aware, in that regard, of the dissemination of false information to support their goal.
The facts are clear that there is no evidence of mismanagement or impropriety. GRF takes such allegations seriously. For example, GRF obtains an audit of its financials by an independent CPA on an annual basis, and each year the audit has been successful. GRF is not in debt and holds no debt. Members may disagree with the manner in which Leisure World is governed and/or operated, which they have a right to do. However, the use of false information to support such narrative is unfortunate and unfair to the individuals wrongly accused or attributed as having taken an action that they did not.
The continued repeating and amplification of misinformation makes it difficult to impossible for the community to have meaningful conversations about the issues facing it and is dangerous to the long-term health of Leisure World Seal Beach. It is only through an honest and informed dialogue that over sixty years of successful selfgovernance will continue to be successful.
