Sunshine Club will host speakers Feb. 7 in CH 3


Arunima Kapoor, MSc and Allie Engstrom, both trainees in the Research and Education in Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (REMIND) program at the University of California, Irvine, will speak on Friday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse3,Room2.REMIND aims to encourage collaboration among the next generation of scientists and clinicians, and promote community outreach and education on neurodegenerative diseases Arunima Kapoor is a fourth year PhD student in the Department of Psychological Science. She received her bachelors desgree in mental health studies and master’s in neuroscience from the University of Toronto. Her current research focuses on understanding vascular contributions to dementia and examining how aging blood vessels affect memory and thinking skills.
Allie Engstrom is a third year PhD student in clinical psychology, with a focus in neuropsychology. Her research focuses on vascular contributions to cognitive impairment and dementia, with a particular interest in cerebrovascular reactivity. Engstrom is also a clinical trainee at the UCI Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders where she conducts neuropsychological evaluations on older adults with and without cognitive impairment.
All shareholders are welcome. Sunshine Club requires no membership fees, and refreshments will be served. Donations are welcome.
People who arrive late are asked to quietly use the back door so as not to disturb the presentation.
Sunshine Club is now in its 14th year, with the mission of “Building Bridges for a Brighter Leisure World,” to help all different ethnic people get along in the community, and for sharing information with neighbors to have better communication and to get the best out of living in Leisure World.
