LW Men’s Golf League

Seven golfers competed at the 6,000-yard par-71 River View Golf Course in Santa Ana on July 19.

Scores were higher than usual reflecting the course length—two 500-plus yard par 5s—plus difficult flag positioning. There were no birdies and no rounds below net par reflecting the increased course difficulty. Gary Stivers and Fujio Norihiro tied for fewest putts in the A flight and Tom Ross had fewest for the B. Ross was also closest to the pin on the par-3 fourth hole and Bob Munn was closest on the par-3 12th hole.

A flight winners: Stivers and Sam Choi, first place; Clay

Fischer, second; Norihiro and Chris Lankford, third.

B flight winners: Munn, first place; Ross, second.

Nine golfers competed at the 4,000-yard par-62 David L. Baker Golf Course in Fountain Valley on July 22.

Scores were well below average with every player at or below net par, and there were five birdies, two by Bill McKusky and one each by Steve Tierney, Andrew Tierney and Sam Choi. McKusky had fewest putts for the round. Jim Goltra was closest to the pin on 110-yard par-3 third hole and Andrew Tierney was closest on the 100-yard par-3 15th hole.

A flight winners: Goltra, first place; Chris Lankford, second; Fujio Norihiro, third; Steve Tierney, fourth; Choi, Clay Fischer and Gary Stivers, fifth.

B flight winners: McKusky, first place; Bob Munn, second.
