Meals on Wheels, Long Beach

Meals on Wheels of Long Beach Inc. delivers freshly cooked meals Monday through Friday, between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Deliveries include a hot dinner, cold lunch, dessert and an 8 ounce carton of 1 percent milk. The cold lunch may be an entrée salad or a sandwich with a small side salad. An alternate dessert is available for those on a diabetic diet. To cancel a meal for the following day, you must contact Adler before 9 a.m. the prior business day. Menu is subject to change without notice.

Thursday, Oct. 29: Baked ziti with turkey, whole-grain roll, and seasoned cauliflower; cheesecake; roast beef-and-cheese sandwich, with lettuce, tomato and pickle, plus Asian coleslaw.

Friday, Oct. 30: Rosemary chicken breast with creamy garlic sauce, wild rice, and seasoned carrots; fruit cocktail cup; entrée Greek chicken salad, with tomato, olives, cucumber, feta cheese and vinaigrette dressing, plus crackers.

Monday, Nov. 2: Homemade meatloaf with mushroom gravy, mashed sweet potatoes, and mixed vegetables; oatmeal cookies; egg-salad sandwich, with spinach and tomato, plus three-bean salad.

Tuesday, Nov. 3: Barbecue chicken leg and thigh, seasoned potatoes, and mixed vegetables; yogurt with fruit; veggie pasta salad, with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, black olives, red onions and dressing, plus crackers.

Wednesday, Nov. 4: Oven-roasted pork loin with honey mustard sauce, barley pilaf, and peas and onions; vanilla pudding; turkey-and-cheese sandwich, with lettuce, tomato and pickle, plus creamy cole slaw.
