Golden Age Foundation’s Walk and Roll-A-Thon returns
The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) is resurrecting its biggest fundraiser of the year, the Walk and Roll-A-Thon. It was originally held in 1997 to raise money for the GAF with an emphasis on supporting health.
The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., starting at the Clubhouse 6 parking lot.
This event is not a race, walkers are encouraged to walk at their own pace and may turn around any time along the route. Golf cart ambassadors will follow the walkers to make sure those participating in the event are doing well and will bring those who run out of steam back to Clubhouse 6.
Walkers, tricycle riders, and those using mobility aids are invited to traverse the 2.4mile course alongside friends and family. There will be turnarounds for people who want to walk shorter distances. People can pick up mobility aids if they want to participate and need help.
There will be entertainment in front of the Clubhouse 6 parking lot, along with tables inside Clubhouse 6 with information, and commemorative t-shirts. Food trucks will also be outside for people to enjoy.
The participants of the Walk and Roll-A-Thon are required to pre-register beginning Aug. 14, in Clubhouse 6, from 9 -11 a.m., every Wednesday through Sept. 18.
People can fill out the registration card below and drop it off in the mounted metal box in Clubhouse 6 or mail it to P.O. Box 2369, Seal Beach, CA 90740.
