Hui O Hula is LW’s Hawaiian Dance Club. Hula dance class meets twice a week starting at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tuesday’s class is given upstairs in Clubhouse 6; Thursday’s class meets at Veterans Plaza when the weather is favorable.

In class, hula dancers have been practicing a new hula named “Waikiki Hula” and preparing for two June performances.

On June 25, dancers enjoyed wishing LW’s Impaired Vision and Hearing Club a happy summer with “Hula Town,” “Waikiki Hula,” “He Aloha No O Honolulu,” “Ka Lehua I Milia” and “Rainbow Connection.”

For well over a decade, Hui O Hula has been entertaining the residents at Rowntree Gardens (previously known as Quaker Gardens) during its summer luaus and holiday gatherings.

This summer is no exception because, instead of regular class today, June 27, 19 dancers are enjoying their field trip and having a hula recital at the facility in Stanton.

Hui O Hula dancers have been performing at Stanton Rowntree Gardens Senior Living Community, twice a year, for well over a decade. Here, in 2023, dancers dance with Aloha nui/much love.
