Scrabble Club

The Leisure World Scrabble Club met on Dec. 28 and on all four Wednesdays in January.

There were 73 scores above 300, seven of which were higher than 400. There were 44 bingos—the use of all seven tiles in one move.

Bob Ruderman led with 22 of the bingos and 10 scores above 300. Four of his totals were above 400, including one of 461.

Suthy Edgar topped 300 nine times and recorded 11 bingos. Her two best scores were both 428. Larry Edgar had 12 scores above 300, including one of 403. He had six bingos.

Others who scored above 300 were: Diane Seeger—nine times, high score of 368; Myrna Losquandro—seven times, high score of 331 (twice) and four bingos; Wanda Bemben—six times, high score of 360; Club President Maria Giegerich—five times, high score of 322; Club Vice President Sylvia Makus—five times, high score of 380; Marilyn Moody—four times, high score of 397 and one bingo; new member Donna Perkins—twice, high score of 349; and Kay Pushman—twice, high score of 331.

The club meets in Clubhouse 3, Room 5, from 1-4 p.m. every Wednesday. New members, including beginning players, are welcome.
