Scrabble Club
The Leisure World Scrabble Club met on the first four Wednesdays in August. The members combined for 53 scores of 300 or higher and 27 “bingos.” (A bingo is the use of all seven tiles in one move.)
Larry Edgar led with 12 scores of 300 or above. His best was a 432. He had one bingo.
Diane Seeger topped 300 11 times. She had five bingos and a high score of 392.
Bob Ruderman exceeded 300 10 times. Three of those scores were above 400, including a high of 433. He had 13 bingos.
Suthy Edgar scored above 300 nine times. She had two totals above 400, the higher score being a 416. She recorded seven bingos.
Club President Maria Giegerich had five totals above 300, including a 362, and recorded one bingo.
Wanda Bemben topped 300 three times, with a high score of 345. Sue Gass scored 300 or higher twice, with a best of 337. New member Kay Pushman recorded a 303.
The club meets on Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 5. On Sept. 7, lunch will be served starting at noon.
