Community Church
The mask mandate has gone back into effect across the state as the infection rate has risen again. Many people may be feeling unsettled and just over it all. Mary might have felt the same as she traveled with Joseph to Bethlehem for the Roman census and had no place to stay before giving birth to Jesus in a stable. For Mary, Joseph and Jesus, that first Christmas was unsettling as well. Community Church has made a point as a faith community to say loudly and repeatedly “You are welcome here.” That welcome has some constraints imposed by the pandemic, but the welcome is still absolute. Community Church will continue to worship in-person with its new air-filtration system, with masks and proof ofvaccination required to attend.
The Christmas Eve Service will be at 6 p.m. The service will feature beautiful and moving lessons and carols that will conclude with a candle lighting ceremony. On Sunday, Dec. 26, Community Church will have worship at its regular time at 9:50 a.m. with a message titled “The Power of the Heart.”
