First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together.

Pastor’s Message

Pastor Gary Whitlatch will return to 1 Timothy this week. The letter from Paul was written to encourage Timothy, the pastor of the church in Ephesus. In 1 Timothy 4:6-9, Paul describes words of faith to be nourishing to the brethren of the church.

Acts 16:5 states, “So the Churches were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.”

Acts 16:8 says “godliness is profitable for all things since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” This was a reminder to all believers that practicing sound doctrine is of benefit and an encouragement to all.

Weekend Services

Sunday services, held from 9:30-10:45 a.m., are traditional with hymnal music led by Janet Ray and Sherry Parmenter at the piano. This week, the choir will sing with Ruth Bonnema at piano.

Saturday services includes contemporary worship songs led by Gregory Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

Midweek Studies

Melli Herrera leads the women’s Bible study on Mondays from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Whitlatch leads the Tuesday Bible study from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday morning Bible study from 10:30-11:30. Humes also leads the prayer and Bible study on Fridays from 4-5 p.m.
