Paws, Claws and Beaks Club
The Paws, Claws and Beaks Club will feature birds on Thursday, June 13, in the Clubhouse 1 picnic area at noon.
People are asked to bring a potluck dish for eight to share. The club will bring dessert and water. Pet enthusiasts are welcome to join. Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash.
Joni Blank-Malukas from Mutual 15 will speak on having a bird as a pet. She is full of information about birds and how to keep them as pets.
Blank-Malukas will bring her two male parrots, Yoshi, an Eclectus parrot, and Pea-o, a Meyer’s parrot. Both of the birds were rescues and are trained registered therapy birds with Pet Partners, the largest organization of its kind in the United States.
Pea-o and Yoshi visit schools, hospitals, community events, residential facilities, colleges and universities. They are loving, affectionate, playful, funny, silly and can enjoy cuddling. The two birds like to make people happy, especially their owners. For more information about the club, call Bonnie Kaplan at 714-930-5314 or email craft. kaplan029@gmail.com.
