A Crape Myrtle tree in full bloom caught the eye of Phyllis Poper in Mutual 14. She has lived in Leisure World for 20 years and has never seen it bloom. Now she knows that the showy summer flowers are a beautiful shade of pinky purple.

Cowboy is a chihuahua/dachshund mix that possibly has a bit of pug in him since his tail curls up so much. He is eight years old this year and true to his watchful nature. GAF Meals on Wheels of Long Beach (MOWLB) wishes to express its gratitude to the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) for its additional donation of $10,000 and its continuing support of the LWers-helping-LWers tradition. The donation supports MOWLB’s, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, mission that focuses on the nutritional and emotional needs of the most vulnerable Leisure World Seal Beach home-bound residents.
