Venues are now open all over LW


GRF FACILITIES e group exercise room at the newly remodeled Fitness Center is now open. Hui O Hula, with teacher Jojo Weingart, is one of several dance groups now meeting at the Clubhouse 6 facility. And all across LW other venues have reopened a_er a prolonged shutdown due to COVID-19 impacts. No masks are required at LW facilities for fully vaccinated residents. See page 13 for more on the

Honoring a special orphan


by Patty Marsters pattym@lwsb.com Judie Jacobus spent the first weekend of June in Concordia, Kansas, at the annual Celebration of Orphan Train Riders. It’s an event that’s very special to her, as her father took the journey from New York to Ottawa, Kansas, to start a new life at just 2 years old. The so-called orphan trains operated between 1854 and 1929 and were the precursor to the
