GAF Tax Program

GAF Tax Program


The IRS has extended the filing deadline for 2020 federal tax return to May 17. Therefore, the AARP Tax Program sponsored by the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) has extended it tax preparation service to May 5. The service is offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Appointments are required. No walk-ins are allowed due to COVID-19 restrictions. To schedule an appointment, call (562)596-1987.

Leisure World Library reopens April 5

Leisure World Library reopens April 5


The Leisure World Library recently announced it will reopen for in-person visits on Monday, April 5. The pick-up program has been suspended, and the Library’s open hours of Monday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., will be reinstated. Though the hours will revert to the pre-pandemic schedule, there are some precautions that will be in place to continue to minimize exposure to COVID19.

The Chess Club publishes weekly puzzles to keep the love of the game alive until its members meet to play in person again. This week’s puzzle is checkmate in three moves. The solution to this week’s puzzle’s first move is White Nc5. The Knight moves from e4 to c5, and the Black’s answer is Qb6 takes c5. Two more moves with White is checkmate.
