Hearts and Hands United in Giving (HHUG) is a small, local nonprofit dedicated to helping the homeless in the community. It accepts donations of clean used towels; new, unopened travel size shampoo, soap and lotion; and disposable razors. The only clothing accepted is new socks and new underwear for men and women. The American Latino Club will have its next meeting on Thursday, Nov. 11, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 11:30 a.m. The club will serve lunch with a choice of two beef or chicken empanadas, a green salad, pumpkin pies for dessert, with coffee or tea and soft drinks.
