Richard Alan Austin 1946-2023 ….

Richard Alan Austin 1946-2023 ….

Richard Alan Austin 1946-2023 Richard was born on January 13th, 1946, and grew up in Redondo Beach. He was always a unique person; where most people rode two-wheeled bikes, Richard opted to ride a unicycle instead. He enjoyed rock music (especially the Rolling Stones), cruising Sunset Blvd., painting pelicans and eating Mexican food. He belonged to the Screen Actors Guild and often worked as a stand-in for Keith Carradine, as well as being an extra in CSI: New York. He moved to Leisure world in October 2008 where his fun really started. He began to attend Enter Laughing classes (the perfect group for him) and started doing comedy stand-up; he had a deadpan sense of humor! He also loved singing karaoke and dancing, which is how he met Linda Allen in October 2009. They went to all of the dances and danced the night away every Saturday. On Sundays he enjoyed the car shows with his best friend Roy Robertson. Richard and Linda belonged to the Rollin’ Thunder Golf Cart Club, and Richard also played dominoes and volleyball at the pool. The residents of Leisure World have fond memories the tall, thin man riding a unicycle with a smile on his face. Most of all, he loved playing Hot Wheels with his grandson Nathan. Richard is survived by his partner Linda Allen, son-inlaw Mike Allen, his wife, Regina, and their son Nathan, sisters Charlene Williams and Audrey Austin, brother Jack Austin and his wife Nori, and his two pet cats Mick and Jagger. He will be missed. —Paid Obituary

Sheila Kimiye Toyota ….

Sheila Kimiye Toyota 1947-2023 By all accounts Sheila Kimiye Toyota was a very private person, who while she kept personal details to herself, was always generous with a smile and laugh. Shelia was born July 30, 1947 in Los Angeles, California, and passed away Feb. 7, 2023 at Orange Coast Memorial Hospital in Fountain Valley, California. She was the daughter of Katherine and Tsugio Toyota of Los Angeles. She graduated John Marshall High School and worked for three decades for a succession of trucking companies in the billing and customer service division. She never moved far from Los Angeles, working for a time in La Mirada and Buena Park. It was from Buena Park that she finally moved in 2007 to Leisure World, where she lived in Mutual 3 and worked 10 years in Security. Shelia enjoyed going to the movies, out to lunch with her girlfriends and going on cruises. She is survived by her daughter Lauryn Kato (Darin) and her grandson Jaden of Gardena, California.
