The Creative Writers Club would like to do a project together with the Photo Arts Club. Writers are looking for photos that evoke an emotional response or lend themselves to interpretation so they can write an essay or poem about the one they choose.

Interested photographers should bring two matted, unframed photos to the club’s May 8 meeting. The pictures should depict animals, travel, children, people interacting, reflective mood, faces, nature, action photo, or any other photo that would be suitable to be used as an inspiration for an essay or poem.

The photographer’s name and contact number should be printed on the back of the photos. They will be returned at the club’s June 12 meeting. When finished, the Creative Writer’s Club will share their best essays with Photo Arts members.

On April 24, Ziggy Romano will teach members editing techniques in Clubhouse 3, Room 3, at 1:30 p.m. Images submitted for the photo assignment “mood/feelings” were shown on the TV screen. Ben Benjamins discussed the importance of lighting, shadows and composition.

The assignment for May is “patterns and textures.” People should send their best three photos to benbenjamins@hotmail. com by May 5.

The Photo Arts Club will meet May 8 at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. Bring an iPhone/Android and/or camera. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Regine Schumacher at 562-430-7078.
