Genealogist will discuss how to verify a family’s oral histories


GENEALOGY CLUB
All residents are invited to the general meeting of the LW Genealogy Club on April 23 at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. Social time starts at 9:30 a.m.
Sara Cochran will give a presentation titled “Grandma Said What? Gathering and Verifying Your Oral History.” The Zoom link will be sent prior to the meeting. This will be a hybrid meeting; people can watch the presentation with the club at the meeting or use the Zoom link.
Cochran is a full-time professional genealogist with 30 years of research experience. Her research has taken her to nearly every state in the U.S. and Ireland. She especially enjoys breaking down brick walls, discovering black sheep ancestors’ stories, and helping individuals preserve their photographic legacy. Cochran holds a bachelor’s degree in library science and is an alumna of the ProGen Study Group. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and other lineage societies, the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Genealogical Speakers Guild.
