Wa-Rite

Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Friday mornings from 9-10 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. Women who want support on their weight-loss journey and to meet like-minded people are welcome to stop by no later than 8:15 to weigh-in and complete the registration paperwork.
At the March 28 meeting, members learned that the club lost a total of 31 pounds for the week. There was a three-way tie for the biggest loser between Karen Green, Joyce Brannon and Jan Friedland with a 3-pound loss each. Green credited her loss to walking her new dog Texas Claire three times a day for a total of 2.5 miles. She also ate big lunches so she wouldn’t be hungry for dinner.
Brannon said she didn’t do anything different that’d contribute to a weight loss. Friedland said she’s been taking longer walks, thanks to warmer weather, reaching over 14,000 steps around at one point. She also cut her portions in half.
The weekly food for thought was: “The only people who never fail are those who never try.”
