Road closures set for Saturday

RUN SEAL BEACH

On Saturday, April 5, the 51st annual Run Seal Beach 5K/10K will be held in Old Town and surrounding areas of Seal Beach. As a result of this event and the large number of participants expected to run, the following streets will be closed to ensure runner safety: From 4-11 a.m.

• Marina Bridge to/from Long Beach to Seal Beach

• Marina Drive from Electric Avenue to First Street

• First Street and Welcome Lane to Ocean Place

From 6:45-11 a.m.

• First Street from Ocean Place to Ocean Avenue

• Ocean Avenue from First Street to 10th Street

• Marina Drive from First Street to Fifth Street

From 7-11 a.m.

•Ocean Avenue from 10th Street to Electric Avenue

•Seal Beach Boulevard from Electric Avenue to Pacific Coast Highway From 7:15-11 a.m.

• Electric Avenue from Seal Beach Boulevard to Marina Drive There will be no parking on the streets listed above. Vehicles along the racecourse may not be moved from closed streets dur-

ing the race hours of 7-11 a.m.

All closure times are approximate, and roadway openings may be delayed.

Parking is limited in Seal Beach. Race organizers recommend that runners and spectators arrive early, carpool, get dropped off or ride share on Saturday morning and pick up race packets on Friday night. Vehicles parked in or in front of private driveways or in private commercial parking lots are subject to towing.

This is the 50th anniversary of Run Seal Beach. Since 1999, Run Seal Beach has given back more than $2 million to the local community, making it the largest non-profit local benefactor in the community, impacting tens of thousands of residents each year. The race is organized by volunteers.
