SUNSHINE CLUB

Climate activist Ashley Craig will speak at the Sunshine Club on Friday, April 4, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m.

Craig is a lifelong climate activist. She spent her 30-year professional career working for several big companies in finance and audit, with a brief stint in environmental policy. Craig currently serves on the board of Upstream Solutions and believes that reuse and the circular economy are two viable mitigations for the plastics and climate crises.

Craig is the founder of Long Beach Reuses, a coalition with Algalita, Long Beach Recycles, BYO and Ethikli.

During her presentation, titled “The Problems with Plastics,” Craig will explain why so much plastic is being produced now, why it is such a problem, and what people can do to make a difference and “turn off the tap.” Hint: Reuse is a big part of the solution.

All LW residents are welcome to join this meeting.

People are asked to arrive promptly to the meeting. Those who arrive late are asked to quietly use the back door so as not to disturb the presentation.

Sunshine Club requires no membership fees, but donations are welcome. Refreshments are served at every meeting.
