Velvetones
The Velvetones Ballroom Dance Orchestra is Leisure World’s own professional big band, playing big band swing and jazz standards Sunday, April 6, from 6-9 p.m. in Clubhouse 4 and again on April 27 due to the Easter holiday. Normally, the Velvetones play regularly at Clubhouse 4 on the first and third Sundays.
Vinyl Rock
Vinyl Rock will perform Saturday, April 19, in Clubhouse 4 at 7 p.m. instead of the second Saturday of the month. All are welcome, but guests must be accompanied by the resident who invites them.
Based on resident feedback, Vinyl Rock dance performances will now be at a lower volume so people can enjoy conversation when they’re not out on the dance floor. So, if it’s been a while since you’ve heard this band, come and enjoy them at an ear-fully-pleasant sound.
Abilene
Abilene, a renowned Leisure World country rock band, will play from 6:30-9 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in Clubhouse 2. Free dance lessons at 6:30 p.m. precede the performance.
The band features drummer Jim Greer, bassist Doug Decker, and newer members Robin Johnston and Greg Johnson.

• No table saving. People may bring their own snacks.
•People must be out of the clubhouse no later than 10 p.m. to permit adequate time for the custodian to tear down the setup and arrange the setup for the following day (except New Year’s Eve).
• No announcements are permitted from the stage, except by the bands.
• Clubhouse lighting and audio- visual equipment can only be adjusted by the custodian according to the instructions they have been given.
• Be sure to sign in, either as a resident or guest, in the proper spot. This is the only way GRF can judge the popularity of bands.
