Overall, the table (page 1) shows that the GRF employee count dropped for a few years and then returned to near its historical level. The explanation behind this table reveals that many of the part-time workers were furloughed during the pandemic and gradually brought back to serve at the gym and pool. Hourly worker numbers rose as many part-time positions in Security became full time. Salaried positions slightly increased when GRF added professionals to the IT and newspaper staffs.

One way to provide context is to group the number of employees according to the services they provide to residents. The table above shows the total number of employees on board in January of the most recent five years. The categories of Facilities, Recreation, Security and Transportation speak for themselves. The Admin/other category includes IT, Finance, HR, Newspaper, Stock Transfer, Mutual Adminstration and Purchasing. The record shows that the number of employees providing recreation and security services to residents has grown the most recently. Reducing the number of employees is difficult to accomplish without eliminating services many residents have come to expect.

The next column will describe the expenses associated with employee wages and benefi ts, along with their impact on the GRF assessment over the last few years.

Reducing the number of employees is dif. cult to accomplish without eliminating services many residents have come to expect.
