Assembly of God

Anyone who has been away from a beloved place for an extended period longs to be back there, whether it is a home town, a favorite vacation spot, or even a home here in Leisure World. The yearning is heightened when circumstances make the present whereabouts uncomfortable. 2 Corinthians 5:1-9 describes the Christian’s longing for home in heaven, after the mortal body, burdened with the afflictions of age or ill health, is cast aside, and true life, eternal life, begins. Pastor Chuck Franco will preach a sermon titled “Living Here, Looking There,” on Sunday, March 23. The monthly Hymn Sing will be held March 23 at 6 p.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby. Everyone is invited to this community singing of traditional hymns, a short devotional and fellowship.

The Wednesday Bible study group will meet at 10 a.m. on March 26 to study session 6 in the “Why Does Jesus Matter?” series by J.S. Freear. This week’s lesson is titled “What Does it Mean to Follow Jesus Today?” It will address what the life of the believer looks like, what is important, and what is not. The brief video is followed by guided discussion and compelling student interaction.

Leisure World Assembly of God meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The Wednesday Bible study is at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The Hymn Sing is held on the fourth Sunday evening of the month, at 6 p.m., in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby. All Leisure World residents and friends are welcome.
