Harold E. Bonnema Harold ….

Harold E. Bonnema
Harold E. Bonnema was born Jan. 22, 1933 in Hawarden, Iowa to Peter and Leafy Bonnema. He was the youngest of seven children.
Harold met the love of his life, Millie Miens. They were married on Feb. 14, 1952, after dating two years. They were blessed with four daughters and two sons.
After several years of farming, Harold and Millie relocated from Northwest Iowa to Southern California in 1959. He had family in California to help them get started. Harold was a hard worker and had several different jobs, which included working at Artesia Implement Shop, a garage mechanic, Artesia Feed and Grain, a driver delivering Tupperware, and then retiring from West Coast Sand and Gravel. But you couldn’t hold him down; he started painting and doing odd jobs to help out family and friends for many years.
When he wasn’t working he enjoyed traveling to Iowa, going on cruises, and camping and fishing trips with his family. He also enjoyed woodworking projects. This California farmer raised a calf in the backyard of the Artesia house, just two doors down from Trinity Church.
God blessed Harold and Millie with 64 years of marriage, 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren, representing five generations.
Harold raised his family to love the Lord, and they regularly attended and served at Trinity Christian Reformed Church for over 55 years.
Harold moved from LW to live the last year of his life at the Artesia Christian Home in Artesia, California.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Millie, and daughters Sandra, Bonnie and Pamela.
