The LW Democratic Club will meet Wednesday, Feb. 26, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m. All LW Democrats and supporters are invited to attend in person or join the meeting by Zoom. For information on how to join by Zoom, email lwsbdemocraticclub@ gmail.com.
The presenter for this February meeting will be Kristin Langlois, spokesperson for the Community Action Fund of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino counties. Langlois will share information about the future of Planned Parenthood at both the national and local levels, as a result of the U.S. Supreme Court in the Dobbs decision.
Planned Parenthood has been the nation’s leading provider and advocate of highquality, affordable sexual and reproductive health care for all people, as well as the nation’s largest provider of sex education. Its separately incorporated charitable organizations have historically operated nearly 600 nonprofit Planned Parenthood health centers providing essential care to 2.1 million patients annually.
The club’s program committee anticipates hosting a representative from the organization known as INDIVISABLE as the speaker for the March membership meeting. Otherfutureclub meetings will feature presentations on the situation currently facing California’s immigrant community.
The club’s March 19 Voter Education session in Clubhouse 3, Room 3, at 1 p.m. will feature a discussion on how to research news on the internet, facilitated by club board member Robert Cohen. Registration is not required. Contact Beverly Bender Beverleybender@gmail.com for more information.
