The Parts We Play—1 Corinthians 12:12-31a.
The LW Community Church is located inside Leisure World by the South Gate at 14000 Church Place. Those who are feeling anxious or uncertain and looking for a sanctuary and safe community are welcome. A Sunday service is held at 9:50 a.m., followed by a time of fellowship and light refreshment. The church has many first timeworshippers, who usually come back. Come early for a cup of coffee in the Narthex and see what this friendly church is all about. This week, it will continue to look at Paul’s letter to the Christians in Corinth.
On Sunday, Feb. 2, the Community Church will present the music of Richard Rodgers, featuring Broadway’s best composersRodgers and Hammerstein, and Rodgers and Hart, at 4 p.m.. Tickets are $20 and $15 for seniors and students. Refreshments will be served afterwards. All are welcome. Those wo cannot afford a ticket or would like to sponsor one, can call the church office at 562-431-2503.
The Community Church has seen people come together in response to the fires to address immediate needs in remarkable ways. It’ll take years to rebuild the communities destroyed by the fire, but the question remains the same—will people continue to rise to the best they can be, or will they succumb to their lesser natures and try to disconnect from those in need? Here at Community Church the holy spirit binds people together and makes them stronger.
