Scrabble Club meetings resume Jan. o in CH 3
The Leisure World Scrabble Club will resume meeting each Wednesday, beginning on Jan. 8. The meetings are in Clubhouse 3, Room 5, from 1-4 p.m. New members are welcome.
The club met on Dec. 11 and 18, with the later meeting preceded by a holiday luncheon.
The members combined for 18 scores above 300, including two higher than 400. There were eight bingos (i.e. the use of all seven tiles in one move).
Diane Seeger bettered 300 four times in addition to a score of 272 in a three-way game. The latter is equivalent to a 408 in a two-way game. She had two bingos and a high score of 386.
Marilyn Moody and Larry Edgar each topped 300 three times. Their respective best scores were 357 and 332. Edgar had one bingo.
Suthy Edgar posted a high score of 424, along with a 304 in a three-way game that is equivalent to a 456 in a two-way game. She had three bingos.
Jim Schneiderman and visitor Rod Weissler each had two scores above 300. Schneiderman had two bingos and a top score of 442. Weissler’s high score was a 394.
Donna Perkins and Sue Ann Gass each had one score above 300, respectively a 319 and a 301.
