First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

As a result of Joseph interpretations of Pharaoh’s dream, Pharaoh heeded the voice of Joseph because he saw character, wisdom, knowledge, and humility in the Hebrew slave. Pharaoh put Joseph over the land of Egypt and commanded all people to pay homage to him.

After listening to God through Joseph’s interpretation, Pharoah knew ahead of time his land would experience seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. Joseph was put in charge of storing up the grain in preparation. He stored an abundance described “like the sand of the sea.”

In Genesis 42:1, Joseph’s father Jacob, residing in Cannan, directed 10 of his sons as follows, “Indeed I have heard that there is grain in Egypt; go down to that place and buy for us there, so we may live and not die.” Little did they know that the dreams Joseph had as a boy of the sheaves bowing to him would shortly come true.

The same jealous brothers that had treated Joseph so desperately had been the reason Joseph ended up in Egypt in the first place, and now God in his own way is bringing the family to bow down to him.
