Winners announced in GRF’s annual tree decorating contest
The Recreation Department selected five clubs to decorate Christmas trees in our clubhouses for the GRF annual decorating contest.
Clubs chosen were: The Gong Show Club in Clubhouse 1, Let the Good Times Roll in Clubhouse 2, Hui O Hula in Clubhouse 3, Lapidary and Jewelry Club in Clubhouse 4, and LW Table Tennis Club in Clubhouse 6.
The winners are:
• Judges Choice: Hui O Hula
• Most Beautiful: LW Table Tennis Club
• Most Unique: The Gong Show Club
• Best Theme: Let the Good Times Roll
• Most Effort: Lapidary and Jewelry Club This year’s theme was “Christmas Carols” where the clubs chosen to compete were to deck out their tree to reflect a well-known Christmas carol. They could interpret this any way they like, so long as the overall theme is represented in their creation. Every year, judges are impressed with the creativity LW residents bring to this contest, and this year was no exception.
Every club that participated this year poured their hearts into their creations. All are encouraged to take a few moments to admire their handiwork while visiting the clubhouses this holiday season.
Each club will win gift certificates donated by the competition’s sponsors. The judging took place on Dec. 13 by three GRF directors using the following criteria: a. Creativity b. Reflection of the Contest Theme c. Outstanding Features d. Uniqueness of tree topper e. Uniqueness of tree skirt Comments from the community are always welcome and can be addressed to kathyt@lwsb.com.
Hui O Hula's tree in Clubhouse 3 won "Judges Choice."
The Let the Good Times Roll tree in Clubhouse 2 won "Best Theme."
