First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

The church will observe Christmas with songs of the season.

Pastor’s Message

Thanksgiving Day has come and gone but the attitude of giving thanks should never falter. One of the things Christians should be thankful for is just around the corner. This is the day Christians around the world come together to celebrate the birth of Jesus the Christ.

Isaiah the prophet prophesied of Christ’s birth some 700 years before the fact in Isaiah 7:14, “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: ‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Immanuel.”

Matthew 1:20-23 shows the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophetic word, “But while Joseph was pondering these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.’” All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet saying, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel which is translated “God with us.”

In John 1:14 the apostle John provides a condensed version of Christ’s birth. He wrote, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
