Presidents’ Council Meeting Recap
DEC. 4 RECAP THE PRESIDENTS’ COUNCIL Clubhouse 4 and Zoom Tele-Video Conference The regular monthly meeting of the Presidents’ Council of Leisure World Seal Beach was convened at 1:30 p.m. by President Rich Carson on Wednesday, Dec. 4, via Clubhouse 4 and Zoom Tele-Video Conference.
The following is a recap:
• Presidents’ Council meeting minutes of Nov. 6, 2024, were approved, by the Council, to stand as printed.
• RHA representative Leslie Diaz-Villavicencio presented the Multi-Family Energy Saving Program.
• SCE Representative Mary Finn presented the SCE CARE and Family Energy Rate Assistance programs.
• GRF Senior Director of Facilities Mark Weaver advised that fluorescent light bulbs will no longer be sold in California after Jan.1, 2025. Weaver also advised the council that Athens Services, GRF’s trash collection service, is obtaining a new garbage disposal truck and will be cleaning the areas that have messes. He also discussed the turf removal rebate program and reminded the council about Goli (fire detection) installations.
• GRF Physical Property Manager Kevin Black provided an update on GRF building painting and advised that the speed hump will be moved per engineering drawings.
• GRF Senior Portfolio Specialist Ripa Barua submitted the Stock Transfer report and provided an update on election material.
• GRF Executive Director Jessica Sedgwick provided an update on the budget mailout and discussed the technology orientation class. She also advised that an update on AB 1572 will be distributed to the Mutual Boards. AB 1572 regulates water use and enforcement in landscaping, particularly in HOAs and commercial sites.
• GRF Executive Manager of Member Services Dave Potter provided an update on the Corporate Transparency Act.
The January meeting is cancelled due to the New Year’s holiday.The next council meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 4, and via Zoom Tele-Video Conference and YouTube LIVE.
