Congregation Sholom

Congregation Sholom will hold services via Zoom with Rabbi Karen Isenberg on Friday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m. Rabbi Mike Mymon will lead the hybrid service on Saturday, Dec. 14, in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, and Zoom at 10 a.m.

Saturday’s Torah reading will be Vayishlach from the book of Genesis. Vayishlach (He Sent) follows Jacob and his family as Jacob wrestles with a man (commonly understood as an angel), is renamed Israel, and reconciles with his brother, Esau. Jacob’s daughter, Dina, is raped by a Hivite prince, and her brothers sack a city in response. Rachel dies as she gives birth to Jacob's youngest child, Benjamin.

To receive a Zoom invitation, contact Jeff Sacks at 714-642-0122. Congregation Sholom will host a Hanukkah murder mystery party on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 6 p.m.

Congregation Sholom will also host a Hanukkah indoor yard sale on Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. People are asked to donate any unwanted presents to the yard sale.
