Assembly of God
If one word could describe the Christmas season, it might be “joy.” Even the grumpiest Scrooge can be moved to enjoy the twinkling lights and songs of the season. For the Christian heart, Christmas brings so much more than the appreciation of sights and sounds. True joy bursts in the soul of the one who sings “Come Let Us Adore Him,” who has an intimate relationship with the one of whom they sing.
Pastor Chuck Franco will bring a sermon titled “Great Joy,” from Luke 2:8-15 on Sunday, Dec. 15 The same joy experienced by the shepherds when the angels sang can be obtained by anyone who seeks it this Christmas season.
The Wednesday Bible study group will study session four titled, “The Gift,” from the Jason Turner series, “The Unexpected.” Christians see the birth of Christ as the initial gift of Christmas. This week’s study embraces that truth and reveals the constellation of God-given gifts given to believers as a result of the gift of Jesus as Savior. This session wraps up the series and also closes out the year of Bible study sessions. The church will take a break to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s and will resume Jan. 8. Resolve to make a habit in the new year of studying God’s word with others.
