First Christian Church
First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.
First Christian Church will observe Christmas with songs of the season.
Pastor’s Message
God used Joseph even though he was in prison. The Pharoh of Egypt summoned Joseph to interpret his dreams that all the magicians and wisemen of Egypt were unable to do. Joseph after openly giving his God the glory and credit for his gift, predicts that Egypt will have seven years of plenty, followed by seven years of severe famine. Joseph instructed Pharaoh on the proper preparation for the seven years of famine, and Pharaoh promotes Joseph to a position in the land second only to Pharaoh to prepare Egypt. God brought Joseph from the land of Cannan and put him into a position to fulfill his plans for his purpose. Joseph is a vivid example of an obedient servant to God and how God is the director of our paths to do great things for Him.
Weekend Services
Sunday services from 9:3010:45 a.m. are traditional services with hymnal music led by Janet Ray and Sherry Parmenter at the piano. This week, Kevin and Angela Billing will sing a special song.
Saturday services from 9:3010:45 a.m. include contemporary songs of worship, led by Gregory Black on guitar with vocal accompaniment.
Midweek Studies
Melli Herrera leads a Women’s Bible Study on Mondays from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
The Tuesday Bible study is suspended until further notice.
Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible study from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
The prayer and Bible Study, led by Pastor Humes, is on Fridays from 4-5 p.m.
All Leisure World residents are welcome to attend the above services and Bible studies.
