American Latino Club
The American Latino Club will meet on Monday, Dec. 2, from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. Lunch will be provided from Portos’s Bakery & Café in Buena Park, dessert will be a guava strudel. Note the following revised lunch choices: 1.) Plato De Pollo/grilled Chicken Breast: Grilled, marinated, skin-on, free-range Jidori chicken breast served with steamed jasmine rice, Cuban-style black beans, and maduros (sweet, fried plantain). Served with a side of cilantro salsa verde.
2.) Plato De Lechon/slow-roasted Pork: House-made slowroasted pork, mojo (Cuban garlic sauce), and pickled red onion served with steamed jasmine rice, Cuban-style black beans, and maduros (sweet, fried plantain).
3.) Plato De Ropa Vieja/Cuban-style Stewed Beef: Cubanstyle stewed beef with bell peppers, onions, olives, tomato sauce, and Spanish seasonings served with steamed jasmine rice, Cubanstyle black beans, and maduros (sweet, fried plantain).
Cost for members is $17 and $19 for guests. Payment must be sent to Treasurer Myriam Klotz by U.S. mail or by dropping it off in her mailbox at 13940 Thunderbird Drive, 6-G. Checks should be made payable to the American Latino Club.
Members and guests can bring their own lunch and pay $5 that includes beverages but must let Klotz know by calling 714746-9626. The club will also have a voluntary white elephant gift exchange, bring a new, wrapped, gift with a value of at least $15.
