Redeemer Lutheran and St. Theodore

On Sunday, Nov. 24, the congregations of Redeemer Lutheran Church and St. Theodore of Canterbury Episcopal Church will celebrate Christ the King, which is the last week of the Church calendar. The Rev. Brad Stienstra will preside at the 10:30 a.m. Communion and worship service gathers at 13564 St. Andrews Drive. Coffee and snacks will be available afterward in the Fellowship where November birthdays will also be celebrated. The congregations continue to collect food donations of canned and boxed foods for the hungry.

The Bible study is on a break during the holiday season and will return in January to finish exploration of the Ten Commandments.

The Gospel lesson is from John and does not show Jesus as a king, but rather as a prisoner before Pilate. Two different men who act with their power in very different ways. Pilate acts out of fear and Jesus acts out of love.
