A dozen Golden Age Foundation (GAF) volunteers served 350 vehicles in two hours during the GAF’s last shredding service of the year. Vehicles kept coming through the line with shredding materials on their passenger, back seats and trunks that volunteers picked up.

The GAF would like to thank Dave Forney for directing the traffic flow to avoid accidents, and Recreation Manager Thomas Fileto who made sure the event was posted on the marquee to remind shareholders about the service. Without this cooperation, there wouldn’t be a well-coordinated shredding event.

The 12 GAF volunteers worked together beautifully: it was amazing to see them flawlessly handle hundreds of bags without any glitches. They worked hard to keep up and all went smoothly. At the end of the day there were 30 barrels of shredded documents, which helps prevent ID theft.

The GAF’s appreciation also goes to volunteers Carl Kennedy, Ren Villanueva, Rosemarie Da Rosa, Roberta Johnson, Sophie Jin, Linda Johnson, Cheryl Falconer, and Anna Derby for their service, and to Fara McCartney and Shery Wells, who accepted donations from residents.

The GAF also thanks those who gladly dropped off generous donations to show their big hearts. GAF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation.
