Presidents’ Council Meeting Recap
THE PRESIDENTS’ COUNCIL Clubhouse 4 and Zoom Tele-Video Conference The regular monthly meeting of the Presidents’ Council of Leisure World Seal Beach was convened at 1:30 p.m. by President Rich Carson on Wednesday, Nov. 6, in Clubhouse 4 and via Zoom tele-video conference. The following is a recap:
• Presidents’ Council meeting minutes of Oct. 2, 2024, were approved by the majority of the council to stand as printed.
• GRFPresidentJanetIsomdiscussedtheGRFbudget,GRFstaff ing requirements and insurance requirements.
• Security Services Director Victor Rocha provided an update on the Main Gate and North and South Gate hour changes effective Jan 2, 2025. The Main Gate will remain open 24/7, and the North and South Gates will be open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on the weekends and holidays.
• Senior Director of Facilities Mark Weaver discussed the turf removal rebate program. He advised the Council that the board is looking for 100% compliance from Mutuals regarding stovetops and Fire Averts. Weaver also directed the Mutuals to start installing the smoke alarms in all Mutual laundry rooms, and discussed the permit process.
• Physical Property Manager Kevin Black provided the updates on remodeling Clubhouse 2 room, first floor of the Facilities Building, and reroofing Clubhouses 3 and 4 in 2025. He also discussed speed cushions.
• Senior Director of Mutual Administration Jodi Hopkins was not present to provide updates. The Stock Transfer report was submitted.
• Executive Director Jessica Sedgwick discussed the completed Stock Transfer scanning project and advised that the upcoming master roster will have a new format. Sedgwick provided an update on the budget mailout and stated that the Technology Orientation class for November has been moved to Nov. 14 due to holidays.
• ExecutiveManagerofMemberServicesDavePotterthankedthe Mutual Boards for approving their budgets, and stated that the budget packets are ready to get mailed out. Potter also provided an update on the insurance bid, the Corporate Transparency Act and electronic voting.
• ThenextmeetingisonWednesday,Dec.4,at1:30p.m.inClubhouse 4. It will be streamed via Zoom tele-video conference and YouTube Live.
