LW Baptist Church will learn how love, the Bible says, edifies on Sunday, Nov. 17, in Clubhouse 4 at 10 a.m.

Jesus, in Luke 17:1-2, warns things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of the believers to stumble.

Love takes Jesus’ warning seriously to protect, rather than expose to sin. The beauty of Christian love is that it builds up others’ faith, and it does so not by teaching them it’s okay to go ahead and do something they have doubts about, but by setting an example of loving consideration for others with doubting or troubled consciences.
