First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors.

Pastor’s Message

Veterans Day is the day the U.S. set aside to honor those who faithfully served their country in the Armed Services. It’s an act of selflessness, setting aside all else to serve the nation by choice. First Christian Church has a tradition of honoring those in the congregation who have served their country in a uniform. In their honor, a barbecue was held on Nov. 10 with hamburgers and hotdogs, singing patriotic songs and recognizing those who served.

In looking at the different ministries that make up the body of Christ, it’s natural to see some ministries as perhaps more important than others, but nothing could be further from the truth. Each ministry within the body of Christ is held with high regard and honor. The apostle Paul said, not all are called to be teachers or preachers, but some as greeters, some serve in hospitality, some prepare and serve Communion, etc.

The same applies to all our servicemen and women. Each veteran was given a task by the nation that was vital to the successful outcome of any operation. All veterans should be held in high esteem by a nation for the role they played in their service to a grateful nation.
