Pool Club Dave’s take first in doubles tournament

The Leisure World Pool Club held its annual Halloween 3-6-9 doubles tournament recently in Clubhouse 2. Twelve teams entered the competition. After four rounds two teams emerged as main contenders. The pairing of players Dave Silva and Dave Mackinder would have to outpoint the team of John Barth and Linda Patton. Over the final three rounds Silva/ Mackinder outscored Barth/ Patton 12-9 to win the tournament 32-30.

A tie for third most points between Rusty Aquino/Patrick Conlin and Brian Burke/ George Gordon forced a third place game, which only took a few minutes as newcomer Conlin knocked the nine ball in with the two ball on a combo shot, and with the residual roll of the cue ball also made the three ball to win the match in walk-off style.
