Pickleball clinic to return Nov. 16

Seventeen people enjoyed Barry Chittem’s pickleball clinic on Oct. 19. Chittem, who is certified as a coach by the Professional Pickleball Registry, taught the group how to improve their serve, return serves, dink, volley and improve groundstrokes. The participants learned how to practice on the backboard and with a partner, and also some safety tips and stretching exercises, taught by Chittem’s wife, Beth. Everyone got to practice the drills, have fun and ask questions, while also receiving some individualized coaching. This was the second of four monthly clinics, and the feedback was very positive. The next clinic will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The class will include practice of dropshots, backhand strokes, positioning, and tactics. New and previous participants are welcome to attend. The cost is $20 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the pickleball club.
