The damaged conditions of Los Angeles and Orange county streets seem to be getting worse, and accidents could be on the rise because of the way that orange cones are placed on streets under repair. I think people should be made aware of this situation and that it should be corrected. When street repairs are needed, multiple lanes are often funneled into one lane, forcing commuters to drive through single lanes, somethings for long periods of time with no apparent repair work underway.
This creates traffic jams and maximizes the possibility of fender benders and more serious accidents.
City and county roads are as important as freeways, which have very few road cuts, suggesting that we should use the same quality materials on freeways that we use on surface streets. That would sustain them for a longer duration and save taxpayers’ funds.
We should have city-appointed inspectors for each street that is repaired before and after work is completed to make sure each job is strong, up to standard and cost efficient.
