Walk & Roll-A-Thon took over Leisure World streets Oct. 26
GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION
After five months of planning, the Golden Age Foundation’s Walk & Roll-A-Thon was held Oct. 26 with over 215 people signed up to walk the 2.5-mile route, five performing entertainment groups, 20 vendor exhibits, lots of prizes, two food trucks, five water stations, and over 150 volunteers. This was the first time the event was held in over 10 years.
Th emorningweatherwastheperfecttemperature, and the day was filled with special moments. Jack O’Brien, 94, received a registration bib with the same number as his age, which he thought was a cute coincidence.
Legends of Rock greeted walkers as they returned to Clubhouse 6, and Hui O Hula, Aloha Ukulele Club, Song Birdz, and the 4th Street Band for Seniors performed as well. Residents also visited food trucks and vendor exhibits inside the clubhouse.
