No RSVP required; classes designed specifi cally for LW

The Seal Beach Police Department will hold a series of traffic safety classes designed specifically for Leisure World residents. The classes will be held in Clubhouse 4 on Monday, Nov. 4, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.; and Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

These informative sessions aim to help older drivers make important decisions about when it may be time to stop driving and to increase awareness of essential road safety practices. The courses will cover:

Deciding When to Stop Driving: Learn how factors such as age, medications and health conditions can impact driving ability and when it might be time to consider alternatives to driving.

Responding to Emergency Vehicles: Guidance on how to safely and appropriately respond to emergency vehicles while on the road.

Common Rules of the Road: A review of key traffic laws and regulations to ensure safety and compliance.

• Common Violations Observed in Leisure World: A discussion of frequent traffic violations seen within Leisure World to increase awareness and prevent accidents.

• Differences in Laws for Vehicles, Bicycles and Golf Carts: An explanation of the distinct regulations governing vehicles, bicycles and golf carts to avoid confusion and ensure safety for all road users.

Each training session will last approximately one hour, offering residents plenty of time to ask questions and engage with law enforcement experts.

The Seal Beach Police Department’s Traffic Bureau, along with members of the California Highway Patrol, will lead the training.

There is no cost to attend, and the classes are exclusively for Leisure World residents. There is no need to RSVP; people are encouraged to show up for the session that works best for them.
