Shuffl eboard Club announces Turkey Shoot event

The Shuffleboard Club will hold its traditional turkey shoot on Saturday, Nov. 16. Sign-up sheets will be available at the courts. Fall league play continues on Friday mornings and Tuesday evenings through Dec. 6. League players who cannot play on a given week are asked to call their captains as soon as possible to let them know so substitutes can be found in plenty of time.

Residents checking out the game of shuffleboard for the first time should know that no special equipment is needed, but closed-toe shoes are required. Everything else required to play is provided by the club.

Oct. 18 morning league results: Team Sally surpassed Team Carol 7-5. All-game winners for Team Sally were Sally Fowler, Kay Mount and Karen Powell. Steve Edrich was the allgame winner for Team Carol. Team Jack defeated Team Patti 7-5. All-game winners for Team Jack were Jack O’Brien and Michelle Potter. Team Patti’s allgame winner was Judy Hulin, substituting that morning.

Oct. 22 evening league results: Team Sue prevailed over Team Harold 8-5. All-game winners for Team Sue were Lynn Baidack, Sue Burkschab and Susan Hopewell. Team Roger bested Team Sally 7-4. All-game winners for Team Roger were Helene Neun and Connie Terry. Sally Fowler was the all-game winner for Team Sally.
