Seniors For Peace will meet on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, to share some thoughts and feelings about a very contentious election season and then watch a light-hearted movie for some sorely needed stress relief.

The 1993 film “Dave” starring Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver and directed by Ivan Reitman will be screened. Although it’s about politics, it’s not a serious political drama.

In these hard times, this fantasy of government that can actually be changed for the good by an “everyman” is what is needed. The entire movie is balanced carefully with moments of comedy to sooth the few intense scenes. Dave is very Capra-esque, bringing to mind “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” but with a modern and lighter feel. It’s got everything needed right now humor, romance and optimism. Popcorn will be served at the meeting.

All LW residents and their guests are welcome. Call Pat Kruger at 562-357-4040 for more information.
